Strain: 18K Bananas
Indica/Sativa/Hybrid: Sativa
Genetics: Not explicitly revealed, but “resembles proper, old school Durban Poison”.
Aroma (in jar and ground up): The scent out of the tin aggressively grabbed my nose. Lots of dill, sage, and pine with a touch of sweet. After grinding it up, I got more of the pickle-based aroma.
Taste: Similar to semi-green bananas that haven’t quite ripened yet. A little sweet, but also has that fresh earthiness and pine flavor.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Smooth
Medical or Recreational: Recreational
THC percentage: 21.62
Effects: Although the official word from 14er Boulder is that this strain is a sativa, it hits me more like an indica-leaning hybrid. I tried smoking it multiple occasions, and became more sedated, laid back, and relaxed every time, but not enough to feel like I was about to fall asleep.
Overall: If this strain was labeled more of an indica or closer to a 50/50 hybrid, I’d be ready to embrace its effects, but it personally threw me off as a sativa. Great effort overall. To me, this is more ideal for a late afternoon or early evening endeavor, at a point when you want to relax, but don’t want to knock yourself out. I’m interested to see where these experimental (Wildflower series) strains go from initial release. This was my first time trying this series from 14er Boulder, and I hope they keep pushing the limits on new products.
