AJ's Unknown Sativa by AJ's Craft Cannabis

Strain: AJ’s Unknown Sativa

How it’s marketed: Sativa

Genetics: AJ’s OG x Unknown Plant

Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the jar it’s mostly piney and a touch sweet. Gets a little more sour with a bit of citrus upon grinding.

Taste: The OG lineage comes through on the flavor along with a tart sweetness at times, like slightly sour blueberries.

How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Smooth

Medical or Recreational: Recreational

THC percentage: 25

Effects: Subtle relaxation with a spark of rejuvenation overall. At the peak of the high, it’s a bit harder to focus, so it takes some time to be productive if you’re doing a mentally taxing task. I found it ideal for outdoor activities or casual hobbies.

Overall: My first time hearing about AJ’s Farm was through Colorado/California based genetics company, Volta Fiore. Volta allowed AJ’s to produce their exclusive cut of greaseball and silly putty due to their ethical, customer-first cultivation practices, and controlled, sun-grown environment. Having this cosign from someone I trust gave me early interest in trying AJ’s Farm, but it took me years to find it in the greater Denver area. Luckily, I stumbled upon it at Life Flower dispensary in Glendale, and picked up their cut of The Soap, and their signature strain utilizing their version of OG Kush, AJ’s OG. The cross is an unknown plant that happened to unexpectedly pop off, culminating into the name of AJ’s Unknown Sativa.

As the name connotes, this strain from AJ’s Farm delivers an expected boost. It’s not too mentally stimulating, but it awakens the senses to feel a bit more alert and upbeat. The classic OG flavor profile was a nice throwback on the palate. I’m appreciative of the level of quality exhibited in this cut, but I’m not sure it would be my first choice to revisit for an upbeat option due to some of the scatterbrain. It would best fit in my rotation for low-pressure situations in which I’m seeking to gain some energy though. This won’t be the last time I pick up some AJ’s Farm - great job by the team.
