Blu Froot by Greendot Labs

Updated: Oct 2, 2023

Strain: Blu Froot

How it’s marketed: Hybrid

Genetics: Sex on the Beach x Black and Blue

Aroma (in jar and ground up): Smells like blueberry candy from the jar, very sweet. Has a hint of dairy behind it. Sweetness amplifies upon grinding.

Taste: Blueberries, but specifically blueberry desserts, like a pie. On the package it lists blueberry and cheesecake as two of the key flavors - I found this to be highly accurate.

How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Mildly harsh, subtle lung pressure, light coughing at spots

Medical or Recreational: Recreational

THC percentage: 22.84

Effects: Relaxed, Euphoric, zoning in and out. The high slowly creeps up after consuming. At first, I felt like it’s going to be on the heavier side, but then I ended up feeling more upbeat, but still laid back and balanced overall. In a creative mood after the high sets in.

Overall: I was a little late to the Blu Froot party, but I’m glad I took the invite this time. The flavor and aroma stand out more than anything else, but that's partly attributed to the uniqueness and robustness of those characteristics. The sweet blueberry essence erupts from the jar every time. As usual, I have to acknowledge the cure on this batch being spot on, as the buds had my fingers feeling like I was playing with glue back in elementary school. As far as the high, I thought the effects were good for doing something creative or artistic, or a relaxing activity you enjoy. For all of these reasons, Blu Froot from Greendot Labs is something I'll try to keep in the rotation when it drops, but it can be hard to get, as it sells out fast.

UPDATE: After this initial batch of Blu Froot, I bought a followup release a couple months later, and it didn't quite reach the peaks of the first couple releases from my vantage point (although previous batches were about god-tier). I heard other cities (multiple accounts from Colorado Springs) enjoyed this same release more than previous releases. This discrepancy could be attributed to a multitude of factors such as which stores got certain cuts of the plant etc.
