Strain: Bubonic Chronic
How it’s marketed: Hybrid
Genetics: Slapz x Grape Cream Pie (these genetics are exclusive to Snaxland’s version, while other cuts contain AK-47 x Northern Lights x Skunk)
Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the jar the aroma is floral and herbal, and upon grinding it gets a little funkier with a hint of pine.
Taste: Floral, has the likeness of subtly sweet rose pedals. At times, it has a salted dough flavor.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Mild-moderate harshness
Medical or Recreational: Recreational
THC percentage: 21
Effects: Mild to moderate sedation with a little bit of zoning in and out. Subtle relaxation in most experiences.
Overall: Snaxland began the year of 2023 with lots of positive momentum. Plenty of chatter circulated within the Colorado cannabis community to suggest Snaxland was returning close to its apex. Since then, the momentum has slightly subsided in the latter half of the year, but with the presence of their own dispensary and mass adoption from a variety of other dispensaries, they’ve remained top of mind for many local consumers.
Getting into the strain itself, Snaxland’s unique cut of Bubonic Chronic wasn’t quite in line with the renewed energy the brand has experienced in 2023, but it wasn’t bad either in my experience, just okay. There were no signature redeeming qualities I took away from this cut. I’ll also mention that the cure leaned dry, and the smoke was a bit harsh, so perhaps I didn’t get the product in its prime. Nonetheless, I’ll seek out a personal recommendation the next time I try something from Snaxland, as this cut won’t make the rotation this time.
Big congratulations to the team at Snaxland for continued success, and hopefully I experience another all time favorite from them soon, like their cut of the soap.
