Dante's Inferno By Boulder Built

Close-up of Dante's Inferno, a frosty cannabis bud with orange hairs on a plain white background, highlighting its dense texture and vivid colors.

Strain: Dante’s Inferno

How it’s marketed: Hybrid

Genetics: Oreoz x Devil Driver

Aroma (in jar and ground up): Feels like the Melonade, derived from the devil driver,  is coming through strongly from the aroma in the jar, as it’s fruity and sweet. Upon grinding, it becomes a bit more earthy and funky.

Taste: Sweet and creamy, a bit fruity

How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Mostly smooth

Medical or Recreational: Medical

THC percentage: 24.77

Effects: Zoned out, going into deep rabbit holes of thought. Easy to appear non-present in social situations due to the heavy cerebral influence. Aloof. Relaxed.

Overall: Boulder Built first caught my attention in 2021 with their cut of Flavor Crystals. It boasted intensely sweet flavor with a smooth presence on the lungs. Since then, I’ve had some samples from the company, but surprisingly hadn’t done a full review since that pickup 4 years ago. During a visit to the Reefer Madness medical side, I stumbled upon this cut after the budtender showed me how healthy and fresh their buds appeared (I was shown a single bud weighing a quarter). The way it smelled, combined with the cushion-like texture convinced me to give it a try, even though I usually steer clear of anything that contains Oreoz due to its notorious reputation of being a bag-appeal strain with no substance. That’s not the case with this cut of Dante's Inferno.

The first time I consumed Dante’s Inferno, it took my mind to places I didn’t expect. I found myself taking simple objects in my surroundings, and turning those into deep, layered thoughts about how and where they’ve appeared in my life. Same thing repeatedly happened no matter the context. I’d be watching a sporting event, and 5 or 10 minutes later, I’d find myself coming back from the recesses of my brain, not realizing what I had just watched. It hits the essence of being a space case to those around you. If you’re looking for something that can help shift your focus or obsessiveness away from a particular situation, this might be a great option to do just that, which is why I’d put it in my occasional rotation. Not ideal if you’re actively having to maintain clarity in a personal or professional situation though. Nice job from the team at Boulder Built on this one.
