Strain: Forbidden Fruit
How it’s marketed: Indica
Genetics: Cherry Pie x Tangie
Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the container it’s mostly tropical citrus, like sweet mandarins. Upon grinding, it becomes more loud and sour with a hint of cherry/berry.
Taste: Was able to taste it pretty well on the dry pull (before lighting), and sweet Grapefruit immediately came to mind. Upon lighting it, a mellow tropical fruit flavor remains along with a bready or baked goods sensation.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Smooth to moderate
Medical or Recreational: Recreational
THC percentage: 27
Effects: Even-keeled, relaxed, mild body high. In one situation, I was asked to find something in the garage, and had difficulty locating something that was obvious, so there’s potential for lack of focus at first, but it mellows out.
Overall: Indico steadily delivers quality flower options throughout Colorado, and in some ways, doesn’t get the notoriety they deserve. In general, Colorado flower is often criticized for having “the crunch”, and in my experience, I’ve always gotten a solid cure from Indico. A cure where the buds are pliable and at least a bit sticky. That deserves some recognition. When it comes to this batch of Forbidden Fruit, I enjoyed every attribute, and I’d occasionally throw it in the rotation if I’m specifically seeking a tropical fruit profile. As usual, I’m excited to continue trying more strains from Indico’s growing library.
