Gary Payton By Snaxland

Updated: Nov 19, 2022

Strain: Gary Payton

Indica/Sativa/Hybrid: Hybrid

Genetics: The Y x Snowman

Aroma (in jar and ground up): Out of the container it has a touch of diesel and some cane sugar aroma. Upon grinding, the gassiness explodes from this batch, becoming considerably louder/pungent.

Taste: Primarily reminded of tropical fruit while smoking this batch of Gary. Subtly sweet with a little bit of tartness. Some hints of gas/diesel flavor exists throughout.

How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Mostly smooth

Medical or Recreational: Recreational

THC percentage: 29.97

Effects: Relaxed, focused, productive, euphoric. Even late at night this cut of Gary Payton kept me pretty active.

Overall: Of all the Cookies strains included in the initial Colorado drops, Gary Payton has certainly gone on to garner the most attention, even receiving some cannabis awards for strain of the year in Colorado (although a highly contentious subject in this community). During my initial Cookies rankings, which you can find earlier on my timeline, I ranked the Veritas version of Gary Payton number one out of all their options. I loved the heavy punch of gas/diesel aroma in those packs along with the taste to match, and the effects would be really difficult to top, as that version of Gary made me feel energized, essentially electric.

This Gary from Snaxland did not disappoint either. The biggest difference would be the flavor profile between both cuts, as this version was surprisingly brighter on the palate with a touch of sweet citrus flavor. The effects were similar, but in my opinion the Veritas version provided more of the energized/uplifting feeling where I truly felt jazzed up, while the Snax version still kept me focused and productive, but lacked that little extra flair.

Both of these versions of Gary Payton are high quality efforts that you won’t be disappointed in consuming, but if I had to choose just one to put in my rotation, I’d have to go with the Veritas version first, then Snaxland's version second. For what it’s worth, my father actually preferred the Snax version first, so in the big picture we’re splitting hairs. Gary Payton has become a favorite strain of mine across the board, so salute to these companies for providing such amazing options to our marketplace.
