Genetics: “Unknown phenotype of OG Kush”
Aroma (in jar and ground up): In the container, this batch strangely had a heavy amount of citrus/lemon aroma. Upon grinding, it became slightly more rank, but still citrus-like in nature.
Taste: Rubbery and grease-like flavor from the onset, but gets more of a sweet dough flavor on the backend.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Moderately Harsh
Medical or Recreational: Recreational
THC percentage: 30-33
Effects: Difficult to focus, and comes on very slow, definition of a creeper. Mild sedation and moderate brain fog. Found myself “begrudgingly capable” of tasks.
Overall: Everytime I get something from Locol Love, I've come to expect some of the best experiences for flower in the state of Colorado. Everything from them looks, smells, and tastes great, not to mention often boasts unique genetics in their library of strains (available on their website). I’ve regularly added their strains to my rotation, but this is the first time my expectations weren’t quite met.
As the name and relative history of this strain suggest, I was expecting a highly pungent aroma/flavor paired with a heavy feeling of sedation and euphoria, but I just didn’t sense that from this batch. Some of the relaxation and mood enhancement were there, but that next level wave of a body high and deep sedation were not. One of the strangest things about this batch was the aroma, as even the staff at Maikoh Holistics pointed out that this batch of Gas actually smelled more like Super Lemon Haze. I was glad I got a strongly contrasting taste to ensure there wasn’t a mixup, but it leaned more towards rubbery/grease-like than diesel/gas.
I LOVE Locol Love, and will continue to be a loyal customer, but I’ll need to try another batch of this Gas before I can put it into the rotation with all of their other wonderful offerings.
