Genetics: Gelato 45 x Grand Caper
Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the jar it’s reminiscent of grandaddy purple, as it has a faint grape cream aroma. Some might associate this same sensation with sherbert. Upon grinding, it gets a little more sour. There is Sour Diesel deeper in the lineage from the Purple Caper.
Taste: Sweet and creamy primarily, but I could sense the presence of the Grandaddy Purp with the hint of grape.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Smooth
Medical or Recreational: Recreational
THC percentage: 24
Effects: Mellow and relaxed without being fatigued. Hit me behind the eyes, but still had focus and clarity while feeling euphoric. Found this strain useful for evenings when I’m transitioning out of work mode. Free of anxiousness.
Overall: Got introduced to Purple Caper Seeds through co-hosting the Live Smoke Session Podcast on Instagram. They provided over 30 years experience worth of insight into our collective conversation. Learning the lengths they go through to attain some of their genetics grew my respect and appreciation for the product I got to sample.
With that being said, outside of meeting the founder, I objectively found Grand Gelato to be an enjoyable experience. The cross nailed the desired effects of Gelato and GDP into one cohesive experience. The flavor particularly stood out from the first time I tried it, as I hadn’t tasted the presence of GDP this much since Malek’s released it by itself a couple years back. The presence of the gelato made for a balanced, versatile high, useful for winding down and casual conversation. I’d put this in the rotation for any time of day pending the occasion. Salute to the team at Purple Caper.
