Strain: Gypsy Soap
How it’s marketed: Hybrid
Genetics: Gelato x Sherb x (Gelato 41 x Animal Mints BX1)
Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the jar, it smells a bit sweet with an underlying pungent scent. Upon grinding, it becomes more zesty and garlic-like.
Taste: In this batch, I sensed the traits of animal mints with a subtle sweet pine sensation. There’s also an underlying earthiness and zestiness.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Mostly smooth
Medical or Recreational: Recreational
THC percentage: 26.07
Effects: Relaxation, moderate body high and heavy sedation. Cognitive fog sets in after a few minutes.
Overall: Gypsy Soap, bred by Seed Junkie, is the second offering I’ve experienced from Higher Function. Ironically, everything about this strain made me lower function as opposed to higher function. More than anything, the effects stood out in this cut, as I found myself feeling slumped on every occasion. Great balance of relaxation and sedation between the mind and body throughout. The flavor could have been a bit more pronounced for my tastes, as I would have preferred to sense more of the gelato within the genetics, but the strong presence of the animal mints was effective enough on its own. If I need something for a late night crash, or low-key weekend, I’d put the Gypsy Soap back in the rotation.
