Strain: La Kush Cake
Indica/Sativa/Hybrid: Indica
Genetics: Wedding Cake x Kush Mints
Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the bag it favors more of the wedding cake with vanilla at the onset. Upon grinding, leans toward Kush Mints with a spoiled mint aroma.
Taste: Exactly as imagined from the genetics, as it gives strong hints of the wedding cake with flavors resembling baked dessert, but as it burns the flavor reveals more balance with some of the pungent mint.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Smooth
Medical or Recreational: Medical
THC percentage: 23.35
Effects: Relaxed, calm, anxiety relief. Easy to zone out during a given activity.
Overall: This batch of LA Kush Cake was one of the best strains I’ve tried from Bloom County. Everything about this cut was phenomenal. The flavor dazzled the tongue, delivering strong flavors reminiscent of both crosses. The sweet/funky counterbalance was dialed in just right.
I smoked this strain in a few distinctly different situations. The first time was late at night, the last few hours in which I was winding down for bed. It hit me relatively hard in that situation, allowing me to quickly fade into rest. The second time was up early on my way to the airport. LA Kush Cake calmed me down and relieved the stress of TSA check, and put me at ease for my flight.
Lastly, snagging this cut at Standing Akimbo was a steal, as Bloom has been running medical specials there since April. This version of LA Kush Cake could have easily been sold for top dollar on the recreational market, so salute to Bloom for offering some great bargains recently. I’m definitely putting the LA Kush Cake into the rotation when I see it around. Great effort from the team at Bloom County.
