Strain: Layer Cake
Indica/Sativa/Hybrid: Hybrid
Genetics: Wedding Cake x GMO x TK Skunk
Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the container it has a subtle cane-sugar sweetness. Upon grinding, the aroma takes on staunch manure-like characteristics.
Taste: Subtle vanilla flavor with stretches of classic OG/skunk undertones.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Very smooth
Medical or Recreational: Recreational
THC percentage: 23
Effects: Balanced, focused, relaxed. Felt a subtle wave over the body while remaining mostly clear in the head.
Overall: As always, I like to point out what a pleasure it is to shop at Krystal Leaves. Every staff member is highly knowledgeable and passionate about the products they carry, and offer up insightful tidbits regarding strain history/effects. Last month, and once a week now, Krystal Leaves offers a discounted top shelf strain on special. Layer Cake was the strain I decided to try on special. Cuban Crew Colorado executed well on this cut, as the flavor was well-rounded as expected, and the effects were ideal for a post-work or late evening smoke session. It allows you to relax without leaving you slumped/unproductive or inattentive. I’ll be looking to add the layer cake from Cuban Crew back into the rotation, and will do so especially if it’s on special again.
