Strain: Mamba Mints
Indica/Sativa/Hybrid: Indica
Genetics: Not publicly released, but likely has the presence of Kush Mints
Aroma (in jar and ground up): Smells like fresh mint from the jar, and remains consistent through grinding with some hints of diesel and dill.
Taste: Similar to Kush Mints with the subtle mint and gas, but this has an element of sweet cream.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Mostly smooth
Medical or Recreational: Recreational (California)
THC percentage: 30.6
Effects: Moderate body high, scattered brain while doing tasks with instances of brain lock, and effects set in pretty quickly. One joint would last me 2-3 sessions.
Overall: Any strain named/themed after my favorite athlete of all time will be reviewed with high expectations going in. Kobe was legendary, so the strain should be in return. The first time I tried it, before a Lakers game, I honestly didn’t get a great first impression, as the joint was having difficulty burning and pulling, and therefore the high wasn’t fully realized. I decided I’d save the rest upon returning to Denver while giving it time to cure further.
After about 9 days, I tried the Mamba Mints again, and instantly knew it was a different experience. Resin was oozing from the joint after just 2 hits, and I quickly felt a pretty heavy wave over my body. The budtender told me I had to try something grown by Green Dragon Caregivers, and it was during this second experience when I really appreciated his suggestion. The smoke was highly potent, yet super smooth, while the effects were quick and direct, no second guessing. I’d say all things considered, this strain is worthy of the Mamba name. I’d put this in the rotation for an evening movie or casual entertainment (maybe an NBA game).
Rest in Peace Kobe Bryant
