Strain: OG Kush
Indica/Sativa/Hybrid: Hybrid
Genetics: Largely speculative, but there’s widespread belief it’s some type of cross with Chemdawg x Hindu Kush.
Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the container, it has that classic dank OG aroma, teetering between pine, mustiness, and a touch of dill.
Taste: Has a savory flavor akin to a campfire or burning wood, but there’s touches of diesel and a rubber-like flavor as well.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Very smooth
Medical or Recreational: Recreational
THC percentage: 27
Effects: Upbeat, euphoric, smooth, confident, focused. Feel like I can be productive, but loosened up and at ease.
Overall: OG Kush is one of my all-time favorite strains, and I’ve had numerous great batches over the years, so my expectations are always high when trying a new cut. Artsy Cannabis wasn’t on my radar until the owner contacted me about checking out their product, and from his passion alone, I was intrigued to give them a try.
After picking this up Maikoh Holistics I was pleased to pop the top and get a familiar sense of the OG Kush I know and love, and once I consumed it the effects were dialed in to my expectations. Artsy Cannabis definitely delivered for the most part, but my biggest detriment for this batch was taste. Although it wasn’t bad, the flavor lacked the forest/dank-like brightness that’s key for my personal OG Kush tastes. Other than that, I was very pleased with this batch of OG, and it definitely makes me want to explore other offerings from Artsy, so salute to that team. As far as OG Kushes go, this wouldn’t be my first choice, but it would still be a quality alternative grab.
