Permanent Marker By Malek's Premium Cannabis

Updated: Apr 26

Strain: Permanent Marker

How it’s marketed: Hybrid

Genetics: Jealousy x Sherb (back crossed). NOTE - some cuts contain Biscotti as well from the original Doja version.

Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the bag, it has a subdued menthol aroma mixed with molasses. Upon grinding it gets sweeter and sharper.

Taste: Reminiscent of the strain Jealousy with a sugar-cane like sweetness. At times it has a contrasting flavor that starts to creep into that grease/rubber sensation. In an odd way, it matches the expectations of the strain name if you’ve ever gotten a whiff of an actual permanent marker.

How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Smooth

Medical or Recreational: Recreational

THC percentage: 19.59

Effects: Took me a few times to gather the effects of this strain as it shined more in certain use cases in my experience. In general, I was relaxed with mild sedation, and with increased consumption it gets heavier and gets easy to zone out. When doing work, I found this strain induced creativity and productivity.

Overall: When it comes to consistently executing genetics at a high level, Malek’s Premium Cannabis continues to impress. Previously, I’ve enjoyed multiple releases from Malek’s including Grandaddy Purple, and my personal favorite, Panda Puff. As much as I liked those, the greatest of them all might just be this cut of Permanent Marker.

The uniqueness and usefulness of this strain are of the highest degree. Although it’s like an enhanced version of Jealousy in many ways, especially flavor, the nuanced differences make it something more special. Known to contain caryophyllene and limonene, the strong counterbalance of flavors all play well off each other, and brings the essence of the strain name directly to the palate.

Increased creativity and productivity are premium effects for my day to day functionality. I discovered this side of the Permanent Marker during a late night of working on podcast concepts, rattling off potential subjects for a couple of hours. This attribute, combined with it’’s versatility for relaxation in general, make this version of Permanent Marker a mainstay in the rotation when available. Absolutely loved this one. Excellent job from the team at Malek’s.
