Effects: Heavy sedation. Put me to sleep when smoking later in the evening into the night. In the daytime, it’s easy to relax and zone out with a moderate body high. A few puffs go a long way on this batch.
Overall: Melody Genetics burst onto the local Colorado scene in 2022. According to the company’s CEO, Eric Wardlaw, the company began operating in July 2022 (via LinkedIn profile). They’ve quickly risen to prominence in the greater Denver area, becoming known for executing both unique and more commonly found genetics in their cultivation efforts. Melody Genetics is also a black-owned cannabis brand, which is fairly rare in Colorado (only 5.4 percent of dispensaries were black-owned as of 2020).
As for the flower itself, this cut of GMO is one of the best I’ve had in the state in recent memory. The flavor satisfies anyone craving a traditional gassy/diesel or OG type of profile. The effects are perfectly in line with expectations of a Pure GMO, as it’s a quick knockout that doesn’t take much to be effective. Without question, this cut from Melody Genetics will make the evening and weekend rotation when it’s available. Excellent job by the team at Melody, I really enjoyed this one.
