Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the jar it has a pungent gas/diesel aroma with a hint of pine. After grinding, it becomes more radiant with the gas-like aroma intensifying.
Taste: From the very beginning I could sense the classic diesel/gas flavor, and it remains strong throughout. There’s hints of a mildly sweet earthiness and pine that glimmer along the way.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Very smooth

THC percentage: 19.9
Effects: Relaxed, subtle wave of a body high, a little brain fog, but still alert. Hit me more like a hybrid most times, except later at night when it would help me fall asleep, and it can feel notably heavy for a first morning smoke. I found this strain ideal for late afternoons and evenings when trying to unwind.
Overall: A Cut Above has been a staple in my choice dispensary shopping since I discovered them a couple years ago. The flower selection is among the best I’ve experienced, as they carry numerous brands I’m both familiar with and oblivious to. However, this Road Dawg was just the second strain I’ve tried from their internal grow (Blue Cherries being the first earlier this year).
The first thing that grabbed me was the smell. Since C*vid, shopping in Colorado has been compromised without the ability to use your nose. With that in mind, when the budtender opened the jar for me behind the desk, my nose didn’t need to be anywhere near it for me to sense the diesel aroma. Incredibly loud. The taste matches the nose closely in this case as well, so if you’re a fan of this general profile, you’ll definitely want to give this one a try. I’m definitely keeping some Road Dawg in the personal rotation going forward. Great job by the team at A Cut Above.
