Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the container, this batch of Runtz was heavily floral, and the linalool terpene really shines. Secondarily, there’s hints of berries and diesel. Upon grinding it gets a little more sugary/sweet.
Taste: Mostly floral like lavender, again the linalool terpene shows it’s heavy influence. The longer I had this strain, the sweeter the smoke became, and mild berry-like sweetness increasingly filled the palate, along with a touch of diesel/gas.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Very smooth

THC percentage: 23
Effects: Relaxed, mild sedation, euphoric, difficulty concentrating. Smoking this late at night was different than smoking during the day, as it can easily take you out if you’re already fatigued, but in the day the euphoric patterns can provide a slight lift.
Overall: This is my first time reviewing any flower from Clear Water, and it also happens to be my first experience with Runtz. When I first got this batch, it was a little moist to burn effectively, so I let it set and cure a little longer (about 7-10 days). Once that period passed, this batch came alive for me. From what other consumers have told me, Clearwater seems to consistently release flower at this stage, and that may be to let the consumer effectively decide to what degree they want their flower dried/cured. I don’t mind a slightly dryer cure, as I think that’s a part of Colorado’s natural climate, but I do appreciate getting the flower at a slightly fresher stage.
I loved the flavor the longer I sat with this batch, and the effects took me a few sessions to break down, as it truly walks the line between uplifting/calming. The aroma of the buds was especially pleasing with it’s deep floral tones, and evolving berry-like sweetness. One of the best aromas from the container I’ve experienced. All in all, I think this cut of Runts from Clear Water/Clear Water Genetics is the truth, and I’d put it in the rotation.
