Strain: Snapback #2
How it’s marketed: Hybrid
Genetics: Snapdragon x Snapdragon (Snap Dragon S2)
Aroma (in jar and ground up): Interesting combo of rubber/grease with an underlying sweetness. Upon grinding, some fruitiness emerges.
Taste: Raw minerals and rubber profile with highlights of tropical fruit and pine at times. Crazy counterbalance between these distinct profiles coming together.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Smooth
Medical or Recreational: Recreational
THC percentage: 27.33
Effects: Upbeat, enhanced mood and ease of anxiousness makeup the core characteristics. Found it excellent as a post-work option to quickly decompress without feeling fatigued.
Overall: Ever since November 2020, when I first discovered Volta Fiore at Kind Meds on Santa Fe, I’ve been a huge fan. For full transparency, I’ve developed a personal relationship with the owners of the company, and would give them the courtesy of approaching them personally first if I had an issue with one of their cuts, instead of blasting them publicly upfront. Fortunately, I’ve never felt like I’ve had to compromise my integrity to provide a proper review, because I’ve genuinely enjoyed cuts from their garden each time.
Snapback serves as the second generation of Snapdragon, which is a cross of Silly Putty and (Shipwreck x Cali Wildfire). Everything in Volta’s library of strains contains Greaseball, which always provides a uniquely uplifting high in most circumstances. I had a chance to try the first generation of Snapdragon, and the main differentiation I found is the robustness of the flavor, while I found the effects to be more closely aligned. I’d be happy to have Snapback in my rotation, but Volta is currently developing a litany of Snapdragon crosses, so not sure how long this cut will be alive. As usual, great work from the team at Volta.
