Sour Power 1 By Rich Exotic

Updated: Nov 26, 2022

Strain: Sour Power 1

Indica/Sativa/Hybrid: Hybrid

Genetics: East Coast Sour Diesel x Starbud x Biker Kush

Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the bag, I got a smell primarily of pine. Upon grinding it became more dank/musty like classic OG.

Taste: Getting a strong sense of juniper, but has a healthy level of sweetness like cane sugar. Overall it reminds me of the green candy canes you see around holiday time.

How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Very Smooth

Medical or Recreational: Independent

THC percentage: 24-29

Effects: Upbeat, focused, euphoric, laid back. Often found this strain ideal for work or running errands, but is definitely great for some evening conversation.

Overall: Being my first non-dispensary review, this was a unique reviewing experience, but a fun and welcomed one. Following Rich Exotic on Instagram early in creating this account, I witnessed the numerous steps and progressive efforts that were put into the personal grow operation. I’ve sat on this batch for a rather long period (still have a little left), and I’m happy I did, because the flavor in particular kept ripening and improving. I also feel the high became clearer and more focused as well, so the cure might have been a touch early. I also got the Sour Power 3, and feel it also improved with time. It seemed a little gassier/diesel-like than Sour Power 1. I loved this cut of Sour Power 1 and would definitely put it back in the daytime/evening rotation.

With the cannabis industry becoming increasingly corporate/commercialized, I think it’s important we protect our independent growers/producers. Small batch specialties have a permanent fixture in this community, and options beyond retail may be needed in times of crisis if commercial options ever need to be halted for whatever external reasons (like how rec shops almost got closed under covid conditions). Additionally, I like to support people who I see doing wonderful things in the Colorado community.
