Effects: The first time I brought this batch of Starburst 36 home, I tried it immediately, and then found myself lying in bed thinking, “it doesn’t even make sense that I’m this high.” The entire lineage of this strain was unfamiliar to me (the genetics are fairly rare), and that likely helped accentuate that first high. I felt a significant body high, moderate sedation, and a strong sense of euphoria and brain fog. During subsequent sessions, the starburst also inspired some creativity while the sedation became a little less intense.
Overall: I’m not going to lie, I got off to a rocky start with 710 Labs flower. The first strain I ever tried from 710 was Randy Watzon 13, and although I’ve heard good things since, this particular batch wasn’t checking many boxes for me, especially given the price point and the expectations surrounding it. Fast forward to almost a year later, and I finally decided to give 710 Labs flower another try. In the case of Starburst 36, I wasn’t disappointed at all.
As mentioned in the effects section, the genetics are very unique. Starburst OG, known for its sweet candy flavor and mental stimulation, combines with KC36. Bred by KC Brains, a Dutch cannabis breeder, KC 36 and its predecessor KC 33, are both named after the company combined with the owner’s current age. KC36 is known to have a fruity flavor profile while also packing a heavy punch.
The Starburst 36 seems to inherit the best traits of its parents. The flavor and aroma explode from this cut, and it really doesn’t get much better. The heaviness, combined with the potency of the other effects make this strain a complete juggernaut with every aspect. I came into this review highly critical based on my previous experience buying 710 Labs Flower, but even that extra critical lens couldn’t stop me from loving this strain. Excellent job by the staff at 710 Labs, I’m definitely keeping some Starburst 36 in the rotation when I get the chance.
