Strain: Tempered Steel
How it’s marketed: Hybrid
Genetics: Garlatti x Apple Mints
Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the jar, the mints in the lineage sticks out, but it’s also floral. Upon grinding, it picks up a subtle dank aroma, along with a little sweet spice.
Taste: Rubber/grease primarily, and a subtly sweet floral profile secondarily.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Mostly smooth
Medical or Recreational: Recreational
THC percentage: 24.08
Effects: Zoned out, relaxed, brain lock, and mild sedation at times. It was hard writing the review due to the lack of focus induced by this cut.
Overall: Tempered Steel marks my first experience with flower grown by High Collective. I’d share more information about the company, but they don’t appear to have a strong online presence. I stumbled upon this strain while going to grab some Viola at Life Flower Dispensary. Bred by Clearwater genetics, the name of this strain cleverly suggests stress relief. Tempering steel changes the internal properties of the material, making it easier for machines to mold, and less prone to cracks due to internal stresses. The brain lock on this cut is strong, and for my day to day needs right now, it’s difficult to keep it in the rotation. I do believe High Collective put forth a solid product, as I didn’t find the flavor off putting, or the smoke jarring on the lungs. I’d be willing to try another selection from them, but this one doesn’t fit my current needs for any occasion. Worth trying if you want to completely turn your brain off for a while though.
