How it’s marketed: Indica
Genetics: Mr. Nice Guy x G-13
Aroma (in jar and ground up): Floral upon opening in the jar. Becomes more pungent with garlicky hints upon grinding.
Taste: Floral, piney, and earthy primarily. As the joint burns, the smoke becomes sweeter.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Moderately Harsh
Medical or Recreational: Recreational
THC percentage: 19.99
Effects: During the day, this cut didn’t do too much for me personally. It helped me feel a little more relaxed/calm, but nothing too noteworthy. Upon smoking at night, I did tend to feel more heaviness when consuming before going to bed. Mostly a brain-numbing head high with subtle body effects that could help clear the mind.
Overall: The Big O is the first strain I got to try by Melody Genetics, but is actually the second review I’m writing, as this took me longer to finish than my second purchase from Melody (Pure GMO). Upon writing this review, I found out that Melody will no longer be cultivating this strain, and I can’t say I’m terribly hurt by that news. The Big O was a solid effort, but likely not something I would’ve thrown into the regular rotation. The company also told me that Pure GMO would be a good alternative if I was still seeking The Big O, and from experiencing both, I can say that the Pure GMO takes all of the best attributes of The Big O and amplifies them further.
The biggest thing I would like to see from Melody Genetics is an increased online presence. A website with company and strain information would be ideal for official communications. I think the community would love more visibility into the operation and the amazing people that make it happen, along with up-to-date strain listings, descriptions, fresh drops etc. Otherwise, I’m a fan overall, and am interested to see how this company continues to grow and evolve.
