Aroma (in jar and ground up): Out of the bag, this batch of tropical gelato has a subtle citrus aroma with mild sweetness. Upon breaking up and grinding, it becomes a little funkier and sweeter, like tainted fruit.
Taste: Primarily holds an orange flavor, but the citrus portion comes off sweeter, akin to a pineapple. Great balance of sweet with a touch of tart.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Mostly smooth, some lung pressure.

Effects: Consistently makes me feel uplifted, focused, and in a positive mood. Smoked some after I got back from my flight last night and I was able to stay up and get a little work done without any fatigue setting in. The balance and clarity that remain throughout this experience make this strain one of my favorites during the day when I need to stay productive, but unload a little stress.
Overall: Affinity has a handful of medical house strains I love and continually go back to, but Tropical Gelato may be atop that list in my estimation. Balance is the key word for this strain, as it has balanced flavor with pronounced citrus, but the sourness gets cut by the sweetness, so those adverse to tangie-like profiles won’t be as subject to puckering of the tongue and cheeks when indulging in this one. This strain’s ability to accent my remote work days has made this a long-time staple in my daytime rotation, and will continue to be through 2021. Major props to the team at Affinity Dispensary.
