Aroma (in jar and ground up): Pine with a little bit of sweet basil. Upon grinding the smell largely remains the same.
Taste: I consistently found when burning this strain in a joint, that it started out with more of the grease-like sensation you’d expect from grease-monkey, while the latter portion favored the vanilla flavor associated with cookies and cream. It seems to get sweeter over the course of the burn.

Effects: Difficult to be productive, hard to focus/concentrate. Every time I wrote notes about this strain, I found myself getting brain locked on articulating myself. Feels like it hits you behind the eyes. Easily sidetracked. Light body high as well.
Overall: This batch of Vanilla Gorilla from Hiatus was a heavy hitter. Everytime I consumed it, in layman's terms, I felt smacked. The only time I attempted to smoke it in the daytime was during the weekend, as I couldn’t imagine trying to get any of my day work done after a session with this. This is one of those highs where you stare at your computer screen or phone and keep pondering what it is you’re trying to do. As far as flavor, it delivered the expected results considering genetics, although I didn’t expect to experience them in such a linear fashion, but I appreciated that aspect in this case being that I personally prefer the vanilla profile. Lastly, as I’m finishing this review, a load of laundry gets done, and while switching loads, I end up fumbling the detergent, breaking the container, and spilling it on the floor...fresh off my last joint of vanilla gorilla. I’d definitely put this one in the late night rotation...just not when doing laundry. Great job by the team at Hiatus Colorado.
