Aroma (in jar and ground up): From the container, I sensed more of a pungent edge like classic OG with some influence of fresh dill seed. Upon grinding, sweet and sour aromas emerge as expected, mimicking a ripe plum. The Zkittles cross throughout this batch seems to lean more on the sour side.
Taste: Sweet and floral with a sour undertone. Feeling the candy-like influence more with the flavor.
How it Smokes (smooth, harsh etc.): Moderate, could definitely feel some lung pressure and light coughing.
Medical or Recreational: Recreational
THC percentage: 23.3
Effects: Difficulty putting thoughts together, straight smacked. Relaxed, euphoric, zoned out. This cut is great for leisure, but not so much if you’re trying to be productive.
Overall: My first chance trying Higher Function proved to be worthwhile. After seeing multiple posts on my timeline from people in the community, and then getting a personal introduction to the owner via Instagram live, my hopes and expectations were high. From what I could gather, Higher Function officially launched around 3 years ago. The inspiration for the company was born out of a need to minimize the pain the owner’s mother was enduring due to a medical condition. With that type of purpose in mind, it was hard to imagine the efforts of this team would be anything other than all-in.
This batch of Zainbow itself provided a high that would be ideal after a long day of work. Quickly clears the mind, and delivers a complex flavor profile. My only suggestion is to consume this particular strain fairly quickly to get the most out of the z terps, as they really pop with that freshness. I’d throw this cut of Zainbow in the rotation for later afternoons and evenings. All-in-all I look forward to checking out more offerings from Higher Function in the near future, and witnessing the growth of the brand. I’d appreciate an increase in their digital presence with a website of their own, so they can showcase their unique offerings and inspiring background story.
